Foot Stompin Knee Slappin Music
Bakersfield is pretty well known for it's country music. It's also the home of Buck Owens a big country music singer who's actually the man who made Bakersfield popular. I went to the same high school his son went to, but I never knew him. My Sister Shirley bought my Mother and step Father a gift certificate for a Christmas gift to Buck Owens Chrystal Palace his dinner house here in Bakersfield. I went inside with her and bought a few post cards I thought I'd share them with you.
The Chrystal Palace is huge inside Buck Owens created it to perform concerts along with other various country singers like Merle Haggard, Dwight Yokem, Terry Clark. My family went and seen Ray Price a few months ago. Bucks band is there pretty much all the time on weekends Dinner is served there while you watch and listen to the entertainment They put on a pretty good show.
This is the road I was thinking of when I wrote A Lonely Road I've always gotten this lonely feeling any time I've been on this road, it seems to run on and on to nowhere, funny Buck Owens finally built the Chrystal Palace on it and it's not so lonely anymore When Shirley and I came to buy the gift certificates for Mom and Nel we couldn't find a spot to park the car so we could go inside and buy the gift certificates.
My favorite male country western singer just happens to be George Jones. I've seen him several times in person at various county fairs and concerts. I love how he can change his voice in different ways and he can jerk your heart out with a song like nobody else can for instance, He Don't Love Her Any More--or another one would be---The Grand Tour.
I hope you've enjoyed the pictures as well as I have enjoyed sharing them with you.
All photos of Buck Owens and friends are produced and owned by Buck Owens Studios.

Well I hope there's going to be a 'continued'. Otherwise I've no idea what that pic's about lol.
I know I've been slack at commenting, but I DO know that YOU know I've been in here reading anyway...so there lol.
Been enjoying reading what you've written recently...it's good to be transported back to our past in such a positive way.
If I don't get the chance to blog later (which I'm going to TRY and do), I will wish you a good christmas and hope that the New Year brings you much peace and happiness with your family and your current situation.
*hugs*
