Challenge:First Kiss
The footsteps were deeply indented into the sand. They were close to the shore line then headed across the beach into the dunes just over the hill where the saw grass blew gently in the languid breezes. The seagulls flying above my head were searching for a morsel of food to be tossed to them.
As I walked to the crest of the hill top I saw him sitting there, a young man, probably the same age as I, if not older; I'm seventeen and he was at least the same or maybe a couple of years older. Sitting on top of an over turned rowboat, he was very good looking, brown wavy hair, crystal blue eyes and a smile you'd die for.
He was drawing on a pad of paper, I asked him, "What are you drawing"? He turned my way, smiled and said, "It's a sketch of the seascape. I often do this on my free weekends." "Free weekends, what do you mean," I asked? He went on to say he was from L S U and came home to spend time with his mom and dad for the holidays.
"Do you live close by," he asked? "I live a couple of miles away". "Do You go to school"? "I'm a senior at Los Amigo's High. I'll graduate in June of next year. I also work part time at a dentist office, filing dental records. After I graduate I'd like to go to L S U to become a dental hygienist".
He turned pointing, "Do you see the beach house across the way? That's where my parents live, I live in the loft apartment upstairs when I'm here from college. I'd like to take you to dinner sometime, would you be interested"? I accepted the invitation to dinner and we exchanged names and phone numbers.
Finally, Friday was here. I was ready to head out the door as soon as Alex showed up in the driveway. Of course, I wanted to introduce him to Mom and Dad. Soon Alex's classic bright red mustang pulled into the driveway. Alex walked up to the door and knocked. I opened the door inviting him in, then introduced him to my parents. We were soon on our way to dinner. We enjoyed ourselves. We saw each other often after that.
One Saturday afternoon Alex came to my house to pick me up to go to the boardwalk, just for something to do. After we were finished checking out the boardwalk we headed back to his house. Alex wanted to show me his art that he had in his apartment. He had so many frames and canvases scattered about, it was a real gallery.
He handed me a wine cooler, gently pulled me closer in his arms and kissed me. That was my first kiss, a plesurable one at that, and a kiss I'll never forget.Yes Like I've always thought Life is a flower of which love is the honey. We soon decided to visit Mom and Dad for awhile and make plans for thankgiving.

I enjoyed your story. I kept waiting for the prompt to arrive but you kept us in suspense.
I always enjoy reading your short fiction pieces!

Really had fun reading the story, the character sketch you gave was detailed and nice. Clever of you to combine two prompts...good one.
