The Old Biddy
She was a brazen.old biddy who had nothing nice to say to us. We lived next door to her for several years, from the time we were toddlers until we were young teenage kids. Finally the time came when we decided we'd had enough of her badgering us all the time, screaming, "get out of my yard," when we'd jump the fence to get our ball or our birdie when we played badmitten. She was continuously complaining about something. We loved her dog, the way he'd nuzzle our leg when he wanted to play. The dog was very smart, but, there wasn't much he could do about having an owner like the old biddy he had for a master. Well, October finally came and we had just a couple of days left before Halloween. We all got together and decided we were going to get even once and for all. Being the oldest, I came up with the idea to gather all the dog pooh we could find, put it in a paper bag, flood the bag with charcoal lighter fluid, set the bag on her front porch, strike a match to it and run like heck. Then we'd be watching her stomp the bag to put out the flames, hoping to scare the heck out of the old biddy.
We'd soon be headed home, hungry for our candy, but we knew if we didn't have dinner first Mom would have our heads.

Cranky neighbors are the worst.
Say, your link didn't work and you couldn't click on your name, to get here, either. I had to cut-and-paste.
I like the way you wove the words seamlessly into the story.
I've been pretty fortunate to never have a neighbor that was particularly cranky, although I've had nosy neighbors before, and one that was a slovenly recluse that never left her house until the day she moved.
It's a funny world.
We had a neighbor like that once - not fun!
Not the kind of 'girl next door' you appreciate.
That was a nasty trick, what are your treats like? Well told though!!
