Sudden Drop
We hadn't been to the beach in years, or this beach anyway. The pier was rickity it swayed back and fourth as you took each step. The gaps between the planks of the pier gave you the willies when you passd over them. Waves crashing below the pier were deep, and churning against the rocks.

My 55: Puppy Love
I love the feel of the ocean in this Larry and the less than secure feel of the pier

Rockets and Wings is my 55 this week.
I've been in places like that too, luckily lived to blog this comment. :)
Willies, yep. You had me right there with you -- great job!
xo
lovely imagery in your 55.
stay tuned and enjoy ocean views in your computer screen in case you can not go.
Thanks for the treat.
Quite a vivid picture you create with this 55. Nice.
Ooohh... awesome imagery!! And though you are talking about beaches and waves, this immediately reminded me of walking the bridge at Royal Gorge.. and seeing the deep chasm from between the planks of wood... SCARYYYY!!!
LOVED and enjoyed your 55, my friend... gave me the same exhilarating feel!!
But the trouble with blog comments is . . . they never offer "critique" only praise. It's considered bad from to say anything adverse. Your para of description is evocative and evokes the wobbly pier extremely well.
