Tommie's eyes grew more tired as the miles streached into hours of this never ending longest road.  She remembered the midnight DJ who had his own talk show when she was a young child. Her parents listened to it as they were on vacation traveling to Ohio and West Virginia. The man's name was Art Bell. His all night radio talk show was always about UFO's and strange happenings, missing ships, air planes, and flying saucer sightings.  She remembered it well and she remembered that it gave her the creeps when her parents were listening.  Suddenly the car grew quiet and she noticed the car was rolling to a stop.  Slowly she put the car into neutral and tried starting it again.  The only thing it would do is spin the motor. 

                                                                     

She looked down at the gas guage, everything was dark on the insrument panel.  She began to rethink her path because she didn't remember buying gas before she left. The more she thought about it the more she realized that maybe this is why the car died. As she sat undecided in what to do, out of the clear a voice like that of Darthvader said, "this is Onstar, can I be an assistance to you?" She Yelled No I'll get it done.

      The early morning sky was bright orange as I walked out the front door on my way to work. Yes, I’m guilty, stopping to order a couple of bear claws, you gotta love ‘em, they’re to die for; made me late. I ran out of the “Donut Hole” waving my hands crazily to get the bus driver’s attention so he wouldn’t pass me by.

      Finally dropping my four quarters down the money slot to pay for my bus ride, I noticed several people sitting around staring at my bag of warm donuts.  Before to long I noticed an older woman  looking in several different little pockets possibly for a few loose coins maybe enough change to settle the craving she has for a warm donut so early in the morning.
