The girls would alternate taking turns on the swing set, they were used to doing that, for there had been only one swing available for quite some time now. As each one went higher and higher they'd compare each other's shadows, which one was bigger. Finally their mother came to the back door calling them into the house for their lunch. Jenny asked, "What are we having, Mom?" Their mother answered, "Green fried tomatoes and bacon sandwiches. When you girls go back outside I want you to stay where I can see you when I look out into the field."
Sarah noticed the nice smell coming from the lilies that were sitting in a vase on the table. "Are these the lilies that grow next to the snow mobile shed?" Sarah asked. Jenny, with the look of aggravation told Sarah," You ask to many questions, Sarah. I'm trying to listen to my music." "I was talking to Mom, mind your own business, stupid." screamed Sarah.
Their mother went into her bedroom, locked the door, and began watching a movie on her DVD player. The reality was that the girls bickering was beginning to make her frantic.

This was a very enjoyable read. Your talk of fried green tomatoes and bacon sandwiches made me hungry and I thought the picture you painted of a little slice of domestic life was really authentic and well-observed.
I really like your story.
Ace Argent said, a nice slice of life. Nice that even though the girls bicker they also shared the swing so nicely.
