Three Word Wednesday
Words for this week are.
Epic Drain
Nibble
When I was a younger man I went to Colorado and lived there for about a year. I froze by butt off. After living there for just under a year. The cold snowy days seemed to drain all the strength out of me and I was just working at a gas station. I knew I could never make it at the South Pole. This was in the seventies, just when gasoline shortages were happening. People were fighting over their places in line and actually fist fighting over who was in line first.
It kind of reminded me of the epic of the Old West. It was really the first time I noticed how childish full grown people could act. I'd be kicking back some where, out of the line of a missed punch, swing, or a kick; nibbling on an apple or maybe even some fruitcake Mom always tortured us with at Christmas time. Yes the memories of Colorado, my first wife, and the life we lived together still haunt me periodically, but I would still live them again if only I could because life at that time was certainly quite interesting.

Interesting piece. The ending is bittersweet. But I like it.
I think the time we first begin to understand adults can be fools is the time we begin to grow up and we can be 30+
I would love to know more about Colorado, your first wife and your life together

I agree with Pia about when we recognize adults as fools, we’ve grown ourselves.
