Granny

The three words for today are
Amaze – Sacred – Frail

She was as frail as a china doll, but, she was my grandma whom I loved with all my heart. When she passed it hurt me to see her lying so still, so quietly in her coffin. The way she was able to do things always amazed me since she was blind. For instance, getting out of her chair and walking around her house as if she could see.
She couldn't see you, but, if you were to walk through her door she'd say, "Hello Larry, what have you been doing today?" I often wondered how she knew it was me. She told me that everybody has their own way of opening doors and when you get used to the different sounds they make, for instance the way they turn the door knob, how far they opened the door or the sounds they make as they walk you begin to recognize the characteristics of that persons habits.
She asked me “Haven't you ever wondered why the bell hangs off the top of the door? When the bell chimes it tells me there is someone coming into the house." Grandma was a religious lady and loved to have sacred music playing in her home as she rested at night. She didn't like television at all and she always said it was from the devil therefore she wouldn't watch it

seeing the words made me want to write about my grandpa, but then... turned out differently :)
nice one
what a nice tribute. Thanks for sharing.
And really, you're not late. When I started writing for the prompt - before I became the moderator after 3WW's creator, Bone decided to hang it up - I always did my 3WW on Thursday. Thought I needed the time to roll the words around my mind a little. Do whatever works for you.
Good old Granny!
I know a blind person who says she can tell people by their smell!
larry what a great post!!! there is a special place in our hearts for grandparents... and the blind see so much more clearly than the sighted...
aaww sweet words :)
How wonderful! She sounds like a great lady. Nice tribute.
Hi Larry,
You wrote a wonderful tribute to your grandmother. Made me long for my own… now passed.
Bravo.

Larry, always a treat to come and read your work. After thinking about this for a while, I realised that what your Grandma said was true...we all have individual ways of doing things. That's what makes us unique.
Great job and thanks for the insight.
